The point of the experiences realised is to determinate in a practical and realistic way, the capacity of the Debra Mask f4 to provide the user from 15 to 20 minuts of safety protection in a environment of toxic fumes


Realization of the test:

The experience was executed on 31/07/87 in the facilities of the Destrial S.A.

A distillery located in Ezeiza, that lend its facilities and security staff. The test was done under the supervision of the Argentine institute of security.

The experience was realised in a close environment of 3 mas por 4 mas par 2,5 mts of height totally closed.

In its inner solvents, woods, carton, plastic, polyurethane, hurd, clothes and acrilic were burned.

Conclusion of the test:


They got in and stayed in that environment during 20 minutes. The white filter went to be an intense black color, due to the capacitation of the gases that take part in the smoke.

The concentration measured of carbon monoxide until 7 minutes was of 400 ppm and until 12 minutes it was of 720 ppm. Bother was none.


2nd Debra Mask's F4 test realised


This one has the purpose of confirming and expanding the results of the previous one.


Realization of the test:

It was realised in the Sevel Arg S.A (Producers of Fiat-Peugeot) in its plant located in El Palomar (Province of Buenos Aires) on 06/08/87.

The test was realised in a glazed cabin on the 4 sides of 4x4x2,50 meters approximately. Smoke was generated by burning woods, carton, plastics, hurd, gum, all this dip in a light solvent in 2 metallic drums of 30 litres, which burn vividly.

The temperature in the cabin reached the 38ºc, being the external temperature of 6ºc.

The participants talked into the cabin while the time passed. After 8 minutes the cabin was imposible to see from outside even though it was transparent in an open environment in daylight.

The smoke, intense, went out for not sealed areas. Meanwhile the concentrations of carbon monoxide were measured from outside with a result of 460 ppm.

Conclusion of the test:

Within 13 minutes Mr. Labate went out, saying that the visor hasn´t been tarnished and that he could breathe perfectly but he got out because he has participated in the previous test.

Within 15 minutes, due to the big density of the smoke the visibility was of just a few centimeters despite the visor has an antifog which the participants commended.

The measure of the carbon monoxide had a result of 460 ppm, which involves that together with the other gases that composed the smoke formed and environment extremely toxic. There were no issues.


3rd Test realised


The experience was realised on 15/09/87 in the same place, in the industrial plant of Sevel Argentina S.A.

The security responsable of Renault Argentina, Mr. Montenegro.

Head of security of Saving Accounts and Secure of Argentina.

Mr. Martinovic General Manager of Bema S.A


Conclusion of the test:

After this test, Mr. Nannei with the mask on, submit it to the accion of a tongue flame for several seconds resulting in the carbonization of the outside part without letting it melt nor generating an excesive heat in the inner. The change of the filter coloration was checked, passing from white to black. Withing 16 minutes the air he was breathing started to rarefy due to the consumption of the oxygen on the part of the materials' combustion. However most of the technicians that were inside of the cabin stayed until the 20th minute.

547 ppm of carbon monoxide were measured, produced by the burn of the wood, plastic, polyurethane, carton, clothes, solvents and oil.

Mobile iodo lights were colocated in the inner to favour the vision of what was happening.

However you almost couldn't see anything.

They commented that you could stay much more time without trouble if necessary, that you are comfortable.
