The showers and eyewash were used to provide a fast way of decontamination for workers affected by dust, abrasives, acids, alkalis and even radioactive elements to the 50's and arriving in our country 20 years later being obligatory to the 80's.


The ANSI Z358.1 regulation establishes that it have to discharge not less than 76 lts/ minute at a very low speed, avoiding thin streams and high speed jets as it would be too agressive to the affected skin. The same thing is for the eyes and even more delicate. That is why water/air foam streams or fountain stream type with very low jet velocity are used.
